Concrete Floor Services

Overview
Clear Facility Services grinds, polishes and maintains concrete floors for warehouses, retail spaces, offices and institutional buildings across the Twin Cities metro.
Polished concrete is one of the few floors that gets cheaper the longer you own it. There is no tile to replace, no wax to strip and no annual refinishing bill. What it does need is the right maintenance, because the wrong products build haze on the surface and kill the clarity you paid for.
Our Process
Surface Preparation
We remove existing coatings, adhesives and contaminants with mechanical grinding, shot blasting or chemical treatment. Skipping this step is why polished floors come out blotchy.
Polishing
A series of diamond abrasives, run from coarse to fine, refines the surface. Each pass takes the finish closer to the gloss level you asked for.
Chemical Treatments
Densifiers fill the pores and harden the surface against abrasion. Stain repellents and guard products keep spills from soaking in.
Gloss and Clarity
Distinctness of image, or DOI, measures how sharp reflections look on the surface. By adjusting abrasives, polishing speed and chemical treatment, we can hit anything from a matte finish to a mirror gloss.
Routine Maintenance
Ongoing care uses penetrating surface treatments that build stain resistance without adding haze or false shine, so the floor holds its DOI instead of slowly clouding over.
Why Polished Concrete
Handles forklift and heavy foot traffic without breaking down
Finishes from matte to high gloss, in a range that suits most interiors
Uses the slab you already have, so there is no new flooring material to buy
Maintenance is routine and cheap compared with tile, VCT or carpet

Routine Floor Care
Polished concrete holds up on its own, but only if it is cleaned with the right products. We use penetrating treatments that build stain resistance without leaving haze or a false shine.

Grinding, Leveling and Polishing
After surface prep, we run diamond abrasives from coarse to fine, flattening the slab and bringing up the gloss level you asked for, from matte through mirror finish.

Chemical Treatments
Densifiers harden the concrete from the inside and fill the pores. Stain repellents and guard products sit on top, so spills wipe up instead of soaking in.

Why Polished Concrete
Polished concrete takes heavy traffic, needs no wax or refinishing, reuses the slab already in your building, and costs less to maintain than tile, VCT or carpet.
